Shocks, Coilovers & Suspension

Where a Truck Stops Being a Look and Starts Being a Ride

Shocks are the most under-appreciated part on a truck. They are also the cheapest thing you can change that makes the biggest difference to how the truck actually feels. A worn factory shock on a lifted truck is the single most common reason somebody tells us their build rides rough.

We install and service the whole range — twin-tube replacements, 2.0 and 2.5 monotube, remote reservoir, bypass, and full coilover conversions — and we do the unglamorous suspension repair underneath them: control arms, ball joints, track bars, bushings, tie rods and steering.

This work is not lift-specific. A stock truck with 90,000 miles on the original shocks gets the same attention as a 6-inch build.

What We Offer

Shocks & Struts

Front and rear replacement on trucks, SUVs and cars, lifted or stock. Fox 2.0 and 2.5, King, Elka, Carli, ICON, Eibach and quality OE-replacement.

Remote Reservoir & Bypass

For trucks that see washboard, dirt roads or real load. More oil, more control, and they stop fading when you need them most.

Coilover Conversions

Front coilover systems with matched spring rates. The difference between a truck that sits tall and one that works.

Front-End Rebuild

Ball joints, tie rods, drag links, idler and pitman arms, wheel bearings and hubs. The parts that wear out and take your alignment with them.

Track Bars & Control Arms

Adjustable arms and track bars to bring caster and axle centring back where they belong after a lift.

Death Wobble

That violent front-end shake on a solid-axle truck. It is almost never one part — it is a worn component plus a loose one. We diagnose the whole front end rather than replacing a steering stabilizer and hoping.

How to Tell Your Shocks Are Done

They rarely fail all at once. What you notice instead is the truck taking two or three bounces to settle after a dip where it used to take one. Or the front end diving hard under braking. Or the back end skipping sideways over a bumpy corner. Or a trailer that starts to porpoise at highway speed when it never used to.

Oil on the shock body is the obvious sign, but plenty of shocks are worn out without leaking a drop. If yours are past about 50,000 miles and the truck feels floaty or busy, that is usually the answer.

Traction bars and squat. On a lifted or heavily-loaded truck, axle wrap under acceleration causes hop and eats U-joints. Traction bars fix the cause rather than the symptom.

Airbag helpers. If you tow a gooseneck or carry a slide-in camper, helper bags let the truck sit level loaded without riding like a wagon when empty. Cheaper and more useful than most people expect.

Common Questions

How often should shocks be replaced?

There is no single number, but 50,000 to 80,000 miles is a common window on a truck that works. Sooner if you run unpaved roads, tow heavy, or the truck is lifted and still on its factory shocks.

Are Fox and King worth the money over a cheaper shock?

For a truck that tows, hauls or sees rough surfaces, generally yes — you are paying for oil capacity, valving and rebuildability. For a truck that lives on pavement and looks good doing it, a well-chosen mid-range shock is often the smarter spend. We will tell you which one you are.

What causes death wobble?

A worn part combined with a loose one, usually on a solid front axle. Track bar bushings and mounts, ball joints, tie rod ends, steering box play and wheel balance all contribute. Replacing the steering stabilizer masks it. We inspect the whole front end and fix what is actually worn.

Do you do suspension work on stock trucks?

All the time. Shocks, ball joints, tie rods, bearings, bushings and alignment on any truck, SUV or car — whether it is lifted, lowered or exactly how it left the factory.
